Good looks often run in the family - and the E-Class Coupé illustrates this perfectly. Its exceptionally handsome line stretches back to the 220 S Coupé of 1956, a car whose elegant style and innovative technology made it a milestone in motoring history, and provided the template for all Mercedes-Benz coupés to come. One of the original grand tourers, the 220 S Coupé was built for luxurious long-distance travel. As the German magazine Motor Revue put it in 1958: “The 220 S offers abundant comfort and performance. The interior appointments can only be described as outstanding". Were the journalist to review today's E-Class Coupé, he might well say the same. Each has all the makings of a modern classic: advanced technology, impressive comfort, and the peerless elegance that sets every Mercedes-Benz coupé apart.

The E-Class Coupé exudes exclusivity inside and out. The eye-catching toneon-tone interior colour scheme includes light trim for roof lining, A- and C-pillars, but a subtly contrasting colour for dashboard, steering wheel and gear shift. Rear passengers benefit from individual seats with a central storage compartment. Beyond its good looks, the SE is equipped with many practical features. The comfortable heated leather front seats with partial electric adjustment are standard, as is the cruise control with Speedtronic variable speed limiter. For ease of operation the colour screen is situated in the middle of the dashboard and the controller sits conveniently in the centre console. On the outside the SE is a graceful sprinter, with a two-bar radiator grille and 17" 5-twin-spoke alloy wheels to match.

The Sport model comes with AMG bodystyling, front, rear and side skirts, 18" AMG 6-twin-spoke alloy wheels and Intelligent Light System. Sports steering wheel, sports pedals in brushed stainless steel and floor mats with ‘AMG' lettering complete the sports car feel. The standard interior upholstery is Black Artico artificial leather, with sporty black trim for the pillars and roof liner.
