Winged wonder lands at Inchcape Mercedes-Benz
The phenomenal SLS AMG Coupé has touched down at Inchcape’s AMG Performance Centres in Liverpool, Derby and Oxford.
Influenced by the legendary 1954 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL, the eagerly-anticipated supercar has been wowing visitors at the retailers with its stunning ‘Gullwing’ doors and low-slung, sleek style.
With only a few exclusive AMG Performance Centres in the Mercedes-Benz retail network, the Inchcape retailers are able to advise on all aspects of the amazing SLS AMG Coupé and take orders for the 6.3-litre V8-powered car, which is electronically-limited to 197mph and capable of 0-60mph in just 3.8 seconds.
With the first models being delivered over the coming months, the lucky customer’s in question will certainly not be disappointed. It is the first dedicated AMG model and has a specification that includes lightweight, aluminium bodywork, a seven-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT transmission with shift paddles, three-stage Electronic Stability Programme (ESP®) and advanced steel/forged aluminium suspension.
Visitors to the AMG Performance centres are well rehearsed in seeing some of the world’s most prestigious cars, but as Nigel Ward, the groups Sales & Marketing Director, explains, the SLS AMG Coupé has really struck a chord with customers.
“The reaction has been phenomenal and so breathtaking is the SLS AMG Coupé in the metal that we’ve seen plenty of customers posing for photographs with them, while we also know that word has quickly spread that we now have it available for viewing at our centres,” said Nigel.
“Our SLS AMG Coupé’s are for static display only, but customers who are serious about this very exclusive car are invited to contact us to arrange a personal viewing. Even better, local enthusiasts of this modern-day ‘Gullwing’ will be delighted to hear that its presence will be anything but a flying visit and the SLS AMG Coupé will enjoy pride of place in our showrooms until the end of the year.”
