I feel I must pass on my upmost thanks for the excellent level of service I have received from Mercedes-Benz of Coventry. I had to bring in my CLK, T165 DAE for 2 different issues over the last 2 months and each time I have done so the level of personal service has been outstanding.

The 2 people I would like to mention are Malcolm and Arun, I apologise as I do not know their surnames, however they both work in the Service department. Arun left voicemails on my mobile the day before each of my appointments, leaving me kindly reminders of the date and time I had to book in.

Malcolm showed a level of professionalism and care that shows his real zest for the Mercedes Brand. He was engaging in conversation when I dropped off my car and because I work 25 miles out of Coventry, he organized a courtesy car for my journey to work.

A long overdue letter...

As a customer of your dealership for over ten years I have been meaning to write for some time with respect to the service I receive from your service department. In a few word, it is first class; nothing is ever too much trouble, and on every occasion you work on one of our cars it is returned clean, with all of the work done and any problems fixed.

All of the people I have dealt with have been a credit to your organization and have made me feel a valued customer. I am not always the easiest to deal with.

In particular I would like to thank Steve Waters, Arun Naik and Ray March, who have looked after me and always gone the extra mile when I have experienced problems. I purchased the above from Gerard Mann in January 1995 and it has just reached 150,000 miles over the 15 year period.

By M.B. standards I know this is no record.

However I would like to register my thanks to all the staff at Wheler. Rd. who have provided an exemplary service over the period of the past 15 years, service staff, mechanics, car collection etc.

Over the 15 years, yearly mileage has consistently averaged 10,000 miles.

What I have been delighted with has been the fact that over the entire time I have not had one occasion when I have broken down and been unable to complete the journey.

The above comment is a testament to your service.

The engine still uses only about 500ml. of oil between services, and I look forward to making the magic 200,000 miles although I have a feeling that the appearance of rust on the wheel arches may ultimately prevent this occurring.

I wrote to you in January this year in connection with my purchase, in December 2009, of a new SMART car BG59 XXX. My sales experience at that time was poor and fell far short of what I expect from Inchcape and Mercedes Benz. In fact, I entered into correspondence with Mr Wilfred Steffan at Mercedes in Milton Keynes. My concerns were eventually resolved.

A few weeks ago I had an incident with the above mentioned vehicle, which necessitated me to take the car to Coventry for repair. I was loaned a SMART Urbanstyle. My wife liked the colour, the interior trim and the specification generally. As a result of being lent the loan car, I immediately ordered a new Urbanstyle SMART and I took delivery last Friday. This joins our C350 Estate & SLK 280, both of which were purchased from Mercedes-Benz of Stratford-upon-Avon.

My experience in purchasing our latest SMART car (OE10 XXX) was, I have to say, very different and was far more a "customer-centric” experience. I would particularly like to mention the excellent service I received from Scott Eaglesfield, who was extremely helpful and paid attention to all the details involved with the purchase. I would also mention the help I received from Kevin heron-brooks and the administration assistant Kerry Brown.

Sarah on Reception was also patient with me during my numerous telephone conversations with the Service & Sales Departments at Coventry.

I'd just like to respond and give some feedback re the service provided by Craig (your sales rep). Having walked away from 3 deals in the last 1-2 months from dealerships in the local area (Stratstone Jaguar, Mertrux and Motorpoint), it was refreshing to meet a sales person who actually wanted to sell, and was prepared to enter into a straight forward, open and honest negotiation as opposed to the lengthy "smoke n mirrors" experience of previous attempts to purchase a car.

We were open and honest with Craig from the start, and we received the same in return.

As a result we have now purchased a used vehicle from yourselves for collection on Monday 19th July.

The overall customer experience to date with yourselves has been excellent.

I feel it would be wrong not to send you some kind of comments of my dealing at the Derby branch of Mercedes Benz.

First of all the greeting when you walk through the doors is warm and very friendly, this makes you relaxed from the start.

Secondly there is no sales pressure pushed onto you although they were very attentive and knowledgeable when asked questions.

Once I had decided that the car for me was the E class 350 CDI Avantgarde, the salesman immediately recommended a test drive at my convenience.

Once I return from the test drive we sat down and went through my additions to the already high spec of car.

I was then kept in touch weekly by the same salesman on the progress until I took delivery.

At the delivery/collection again I was met by the same salesman who took me through all the aspects of the car.

At present I am 100% satisfied with my dealing with Mercedes Derby and to prove this I have since purchased a second hand Mercedes C180 Kompressor for my wife.

I feel at this point I need to pay special thanks to the 2 people I have dealt with at Derby:

The whole experience in dealing with these 2 guys as definitely made me a confirmed Mercedes driver, I would not think twice about returning and dealing with them again.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you and Mercedes of Derby for the fantastic day I had at Silverstone on the 2nd June 2010. I drove some of the most amazing cars and the organisation for the day was second to none. The drivers who were training us are really professional and taught me loads of things about driving that most of us take for granted. The off road course was also out of this world and not doing any before found it fabulous. I drove the GL320 7 seater and could not believe how easy it was to take anywhere. Once again I would like to thank you, it was a day I will never forget and would never dream of doing in my life. I would and do recommend Mercedes to anyone, especially Derby because of the service myself and my wife have received. Also next year I will be looking to buy a E320 but we will see you before then.

When I took delivery of my latest Mercedes Benz on 1st March this year, resplendent with its '10' plates, I was absolutely delighted.

Apparently I was the first customer in Leicester, and probably the UK, to get my hands on a New E Class E350 Sport Estate. I suspect that might well be true, because not only was I salivating with unrestrained joy all morning as I drove it, but so was almost every other driver and pedestrian who clapped eyes on it. I even got accosted at some traffic lights by another driver, who demanded to know what the car was, how much it cost and then unashamedly enthused "its gorgeous!”

Who could believe that an estate car could be so beautiful, so attractive and, dare I say it, so sexy? With its twin chromed square exhausts, stunning AMG body styling, and sporty AMG wheels, my car looked the business. And best of all, it was in white: my first ever white car.

Everyone had told me I should not get white: far too difficult to keep clean; a horrible colour, too much of a pose etc. But Helen Key at Mercedes Leicester was quite insistent that white was the colour I should get. Helen has sold me three cars now during the past six years, and I have come to trust her judgment on these things: and I have to say she was absolutely spot-on. I LOVE my new, and exceptionally white, car.

My last car was also an E Class Estate - a E220, Avant Garde in black. A great car too. I had picked it up in person from the Mercedes Factory in Stuttgart, Germany: all arranged by Helen, and courtesy of Mercedes. My colleague (who was also picking up a Mercedes) and I were flown out on British Airways; put up in a five star hotel in Stuttgart; provided with a luxurious evening meal; and next morning after a lazy breakfast, we were taken to the Mercedes Museum and then on a tour of the Production Line. A real eye-opener, and a great experience.

But that was nothing compared to the buzz of driving your brand new Mercedes out of the factory and onto the German roads! We spent three days enjoying a leisurely journey across Germany and France, getting to know our new cars, and then taking the 'First Class' option (I had not even realized there was one) across the Channel on Eurotunnel, again courtesy of Mercedes. By the time we were back at the Leicester dealership, neither of us wanted to hand over our special 'German trade plates', which really did make the cars stand out even more!

I'm a Managing Director and owner of a consultancy and laboratory specializing in giving advice to builders, developers and local authorities on foundations and contaminated land - I have had three Mercedes cars now and would not dream of changing. But why the estate? What kind of person opts for the big E350 Sport with all the fancy trimmings of AMG wheels, a COMMAND Multimedia System, Memory seats and Leather Upholstery, but then gets an estate?

Well for a start, I would argue strongly that Mercedes have created in this new Sport Estate a car that is so stunning that it is actually sexier than the saloon and even matches the coupe for looks. Yes, really.

But more incredibly, and importantly for me, it is huge. You see, when I am not busy running my £3M business and looking after 50 staff, I keep myself busy on my drum kit. Yes, I am also a drummer. A relatively accomplished drummer, if the 760,000 hits on my YouTube drum videos are anything to go by. I specialize in demonstrating how to drum to complex tracks by Genesis, The Police and other interesting drum parts.

As you might expect, I am also in a band (we cover Hendrix, Clapton and the other greats), and travelling with my rather large drum kit and associated paraphernalia is quite an undertaking. The E Class Estate may be the largest car in its class, but even that struggles with my drums! However, it does do it, and it does it with some serious style.

Is my white E Class 350 Sport Estate a big pose? Indeed it is. I would not have it any other way. This is the most beautiful car I have ever driven: it handles perfectly; it accelerates like a beast, it has all the executive comforts one expects of a Mercedes, and it can carry my enormous drum kit.

My car and I still get accosted by people out on the road or outside my house. People still stare at it as I drive by, especially, I have to say, Audi and BMW drivers; and in particular Audi and BMW estate drivers: even they can see that Mercedes have created something extraordinarily special here. That's pretty impressive!

And me? I still stare at it every day. Quite simply, I am in love with my E350 Sport Estate.

I thought my old E320 was good and it was, but in comparison to my new E350 it is not in the same league. This New E350 is outstanding!

It is a pleasure to drive and delight just to sit behind the wheel. The doors and boot close and feel so much better than the previous model. The ride feels smooth and comfortable and copes with poor road surfaces with ease, and it's quieter inside and outside the cabin.

So many improvements!

I was really impressed with the dealership itself, really welcoming and stands out against the other dealerships at the junction. I always feel a little intimidated by garages as a female who knows absolutely nothing about cars however when I arrived I was greeted at reception by name, they were obviously expecting me, and made to feel welcome straight away.

Phil James made me feel completely at ease and despite me saying the problem had appeared to have sorted itself assured me I had done the right thing to still get the car checked out. I was dealt with by another gentleman (sorry the name escapes me) who took all the details and showed me around the courtesy car. They promised to call me later that morning.

As promised I had a call at 11am this morning giving me an update and since then they have told me the problem has been repaired and not only that have replaced my brake pads which would have needed replacing at the next service.

I would like to mention one of your staff for the excellent manner in which she helped me recently whilst in Oxford. The lady in question is a Helen Newman, and she came to my aid when the vehicle I was travelling in came to an abrupt halt outside your dealership. I managed to free wheel the vehicle into your car park and sought a telephone inside. Ms Newman done all that I asked in way of making a few calls to my work to arrange a hire vehicle, and to the breakdown recovery people, and allowing me to leave the keys of the broken down car with her, until the breakdown people arrived, as I had to get back to the course I was attending. She offered me a refreshment etc and in a world today where the "good Samaritan" is somewhat forgotten, I can but praise her helpfulness and manner which was a credit to her and in the way your dealership customer service was presented. Once again if you could pass on my thanks to the lady in question I would be most grateful.

Brian - just a quick email to comment on Friday's servicing of my Mercedes SLK.

Having worked in marketing for more than 20 years, I often tell people that, quite often, "it's not rocket science”. Keep in touch with customers, offer them what they want, be knowledgeable, stick to what you promise…. etc etc. I was Marketing Manager for the H L Gorner group of MB dealerships for 8 years.

Since they closed I've struggled with servicing:

  • Ciceley - now closed themselves!
  • MB Preston - never once returned a phone call in four years. I have NEVER successfully been put through to the service department whenever I've called (they're always 'busy'). They always promise to call back. They NEVER do.
  • MB Bolton - very vague pricing charges… then they hammer you with additional work and can never really explain why it's needed. Never seem to really know what they're talking about! Been twice, not being bitten a third time!
  • MB Warrington (Inchcape I know!) - having lived there for five consecutive days whilst they tried to fettle my Xenon headlight I never want to return!

Out of the blue, something made me think that it's not a million miles from Chorley to Southport. Am I glad I called?! Billie Jo seemed very knowledgeable from the off… was courteous, friendly, explained your 'four plus' pricing scheme and booked me in efficiently. For the first time in ages with a dealership I actually thought I was getting as close to 'value for money' as possible!

I liked the reminder text message I got the day before.

The car got collected fine and was returned fine. Brian who rang me to explain any supplementary work (I'm guessing not yourself but I can't see another Brian on the website staff list in Service…. and I've not got the docs here with me today at work!) was helpful, didn't try to rob me and knew what he was talking about!

Again, nothing rocket science…. but just wanted to email to say THANKS. I'll certainly use you again, recommend you and perhaps call in when the new SLK is launched this summer.

My E Class Mercedes recently had the fuel injectors fail.

I spoke to your service desk who advised me who to call.

I also mentioned I would like an equivalent car as a hire car, it was explained that it was not something they could influence, however they would do look into it for me.

I thought nothing more of it and was resigned to driving a Mazda for 6 weeks.

I was called a day or 2 later and told that they managed to organise a better car.

A Mercedes was promptly delivered the next day.

I am impressed with this for the following reasons:

  • I have no history with Mercedes Birkdale at all, however I was immediately treated as a long standing profitable customer.
  • My mobile was switched off and not accepting messages, however they managed to track down my home number and contact me.
  • I was kept informed every step of the way.
  • I was told an offer of vouchers would be looked into for my inconvenience and this was subsequently confirmed when I picked my car up.
  • I compare this with a friends experience of the same issues with Liverpool Mercedes and it was exactly the opposite. This is despite him being a customer for many years and running more that 1 car with them.

Through the 3 gentlemen referenced above your organisation managed to turn a potentially very negative experience into a very positive one.

I refer to the above vehicle which I recently brought into your workshops, to diagnose a noise coming from the front suspension.

Your senior technician "Ross” initially tried to locate the noise, which was proving very difficult. However your technician team pursued the matter and after connecting the vehicle to a diagnostic machine the noise was traced to a faulty front suspension strut, which has now been replaced.

However my main point in writing to you is to pass on my sincere thanks to your technician team and in particular Ross. I would have no hesitation in recommending Mercedes Benz of Southport, all the staff are most helpful and very pleasant to deal with.

I have recently experienced a problem with my Mercedes car, which is serviced by your dealership, and attended your offices to be advised a new steering part, which was not a stock item, was needed.

The item was duly ordered and I returned with my car 2 days later for the work to be carried out.

The work was completed in the single visit; as we did not need a courtesy car, my wife and I were transported into Southport and collected at the end of the day when the work was completed.

I would like to take this opportunity of thanking Lee Wyatt and his team for the effective efficient manner in which the whole operation was completed and for which I am greatly obliged.

Having recently retired from my own business, I know that the only letters that tend to come across your desk are those from clients who feel the level of service they have received is below their expectations; however this is not the case here, the whole process was first class, for which once again I thank you.

I would like you to know of my recent experience at Mercedes Benz Warrington. I myself work for Auto Trader so I'm used to the car industry and have had several cars in the last few years. I have recently changed to the Mercedes brand after having 2 troublesome BMWs (brand new) which they were unable to completely resolve to my satisfaction. When the second car started to show the same symptoms of the car they had replaced I decided it was time to try another brand. The obvious choice was Mercedes. That same weekend I part-ex'd my car for a 6 month old Mercedes C Class which is actually the first second hand car I've bought in the last 9 years, actually as a stop gap until something I really fancied appeared in a showroom.

I have already ended up keeping the car longer than expected as I'm impressed with the vehicle more than I'd originally anticipated. Another major factor is the customer service I have received from your Service centre. My contact was Paul Moore, from the moment I arranged to book in the car with Paul his professional and positive attitude was a refreshing change to previous marques. Paul gave me constant updates of the vehicle's progress through the service. The car was then returned yesterday to have some warranty worked carried out, to which again I was constantly updated and car was ready on time, with all defects corrected, with full explanation and car valet.

The most refreshing thing I have noticed from Mercedes is the organisation from the moment you walk in the door and see the friendly face of Dave Brown who I'd also like to praise for seeming to be genuinely interested in the customer. The employees there seem without stress and on top of their workload being extremely knowledgeable when asked questions. This is completely different from my experience of BMW where it would be the norm to queue for up to 20 minutes to see someone to hand over the keys to an employee who is trying to deal with you as fast as possible.

Once again, I'd like to praise the staff mentioned and the service team at MB Warrington and look forward to dealing with you again.
