Mercedes V-Class the Brabus treatment ahead of Geneva
Set for debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, the Brabus package for the minivan features an aerodynamic kit consisting of a front spoiler, attachments for the side air intakes, a three-piece for the rear bumper, and quad exhausts.
Striking looks are further enhanced by Brabus’ Monoblock alloy wheels which are offered in four different designs and with diameters of 18 and 19 inches.
It’s not just looks that have been changed on the Brabus V-Class however – special sports springs have been calibrated to the production shocks, which help lower the ride height of the V-Class by about 15 to 25 millimetres dependant on the model.
Under the bonnet, the V-Class gets more power, starting with the PowerXtra D4 performance kit offered for the Mercedes V250 BlueTEC.
The plug-and-play module boosts power output of the four-cylinder common-rail turbo diesel engine by 44bhp and torque by 70Nm.
This tune V250 now puts out a peak torque of 510Nm between 1,400 and 2,400 rpm, while peak power increased from 184bhp to 228bhp.
Tweaks like these mean the V-Class gets from a standing start to 62mph in just 8.8 seconds and reaches a top speed of 130mph.
Inside, the V-Class offers fine leather appointments custom-tailored to the customers’ individual requests. The upholsteries combine Alcantara and Brabus Mastik leather in any colour with refined precious-wood or genuine carbon-fibre elements.
Other features include aluminium door-lock pins and pedal pads, as well as scuff plates with backlist Brabus logo.
Entertainment features are the main focal point however with the V-Class getting a Brabus business/entertainment system consisting of two 15.6-inch LCD screens integrated into the headliner which display the image from Apple TV, Blu-Ray player or DVBT receiver.
The system also comes with wireless headphones, while internet is offered via WLAN router and 4G connection – connection available to a smartphone or tablet computer.
