The E-Class has been the smartest choice in the mid-size saloon range for a few years now, and its estate counterpart has always been a superb expansion.
Now the new E-Class Estate is continuing the trend of its previous iterations, and carries on the stylish simplicity of the saloon to make the new 2016 model a tantalising option.
Despite the sporty roofline, this estate has the best space on offer in its class, a full 1820 litres with the seats down and later in the year, Mercedes is offering the E-Class Estate with a third folding bench seat for children.
From release, the Estate model is available in the 220d and 350d guise, whilst AMG have taken their 3-litre biturbo V6 petrol engine and fitted it to the E 43 4MATIC, the most powerful model in the E-Class Estate range.
As with previous E-Class models, it is fitted with the latest in Mercedes’s safety systems, and as technology has evolved, so has the E-Class. With Active Brake Assist, DRIVE PILOT and Remote Parking Pilot you have the knowledge that you'll be safe wherever you are.
The interior design of the E-Class Estate is in keeping with the majority of Mercedes range, in that it is clean, simple and very comfortale. The instrument dials can be replaced with two high-resolution 12.3” displays, which can be configured to the driver's wants and needs, and thanks to touch-sensitive controls on the steering wheel, controlling them has never been simpler.
With high quality materials to fit the interior, such as open-pore woods, leather and aluminium detailing, there is a real sense of quality throughout the E-Class Estate.
The exterior design is also of a classic Mercedes style, with flowing lines for the body, an extended bonnet and a sporty rear-end design that helps the estate look sporty and powerful.
Now available to order, the E-Class Estate starts from £37,935 for the E 220 d SE, with the more powerful Mercedes-AMG E 43 joining the range later in 2016.
