Mercedes CLA update 2016

Since 2013, the Mercedes CLA Coupé has led the design regeneration of the Mercedes range, and the new update will enhance the look and feel of the model, as well as under the bonnet.

Both the Coupé and Shooting Brake versions have been given updates for 2016, and with the new CLA 180d BlueEfficiency Edition option producing less then 90g/km CO2.

The new versions have been remodelled to incorporate a new diamond radiator grille and new front bumper, as well as an optional new rear bumper with chrome trim around the exhaust pipes.

Also safety features previously installed on more premium versions of the CLA, such as Active Brake Assist and the Dynamic Select transmission selection function.

Interior features have also been altered, such as new seat covers and trim parts, as well as chrome-plated controls for the extra quality feel. A new 8-inch media display has been introduced with a glass cover, which is available as an option with the Audio 20 USB and Audio 20 CD systems.

As part of the optional extras, Mercedes offer LED High Performance headlamps, Hands-Free Access system so that you can open the boot without pressing a button, and also Smartphone integration with the media system through Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

All of the diesel engines on offer for the CLA range are categorised in the A+ efficiency class, with the CO2 emissions lower than 105g/km more than likely. Petrol engines are also on offer, with a top speed of 155mph possible from the CLA 45 4MATIC AMG-tuned version.

The AMG-tuned CLA has many added features including new exterior bodywork such as a larger front splitter, rear spoiler and vertical fins, with special interior upholstery and special AMG badges. With 381hp produced from the 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine, the CLA 45 4MATIC Coupé and Shooting Brake can go from 0-60 in just over 4 seconds, and despite the performance capabilities, has an efficient unit under the bonnet.
